Relationship between Chromosome Rearrangement and Repeat Sequences in Human Chromosome 7

چکیده
A various types of repeat patterns are abundant in genomic sequence, and are associated with the biological phenomena at distinct levels. In particular, comparative analyses of whole-genome-sized sequence data reveal that the periodic sequences cause the segmental duplication that is a type of chromosomal structural arrangement [2]. In this study, we analyze the relationships between the large-scale segmental duplication of chromosome and the periodic sequences. For this purpose, the periodic sequences are detected by three tools to detect repeats of genomic sequence, and the distribution of detected periodic sequences is corresponded with the locations on the chromosome where the segmental duplications are observed.

Chromosomal defects are relatively frequent in infertile men however, translocations between the Y chromosome and autosomes are rare and less than 40 cases of Y-autosome translocation have been reported. In particular, only three individuals has been described with a Y;21 translocation, up to now. We report on an additional case of an infertile man in whom a Y;21 translocation was associated wi...

متن کاملAssessment of Correlation between Androgen Receptor CAG Repeat Length and Infertility in Infertile Men Living in Khuzestan, Iran
Background The androgen receptor (AR) gene contains a polymorphic trinucleotide repeat that encodes a polyglutamine tract in its N-terminal transactivation domain (NTAD). We aimed to find a correlation between the length of this polymorphic tract and azoospermia or oligozoospermia in infertile men living in Khuzestan, Iran. MaterialsAndMethods In this case-control study during two years till 20...
متن کاملChromosomal Abnormalities in Regions 8q22 and 13q32 Associated with Different Disorders in an Iranian Family
Chromosomal abnormalities are major causes of infertility, miscarriage and birth of handicapped progeny. In human live births, the prevalence of a chromosome aberration is ?0.5% and, of these, 0.1–0.3% correspond to structural chromosome rearrangements such as translocations, inversions, insertions and deletions .Our proband is an infant who had died 4 hours after birth due to a variety of abno...
متن کاملI-49: Human Y Chromosome ProteomeProject
The success of the Human Genome Project (HGP) has provided a blueprint for the approximately 20,000 gene-encoded proteins potentially active in all of the hundreds of cell types that make up the human body. Yet we still have limited knowledge about a majority of the gene-encoded proteins which are the “building blocks of life” and “cellular machinery”. It is estimated that for nearly half of th...
